Dunes and North Sea Cost
Castricum is beautifully situated on the edge of the North Holland Dunes Reserve, where dunes and polders meet with the lakes of Alkmaar and Uitgeest. Binnenhofje B&B is situated at 3 km from the beach called Castricum aan Zee. The railway station Castricum is at 2 km from the house. Bicycles can be rent there for tours through the 'Noordhollands-Duinreservaat', a national park of approximately 3 by 20 kilometres. The beach resorts Egmond and Bergen/Schoorl can be reached easily by cycle or car.
Amsterdam / Haarlem
The unique situation of the Binnenhofje offers many recreative possibilities for the visitor. Good roads and excellent bus and train service make it easier for you to enjoy the surrounding area. Amsterdam (museums and trips), Alkmaar (cheese market), Haarlem (Museums), the Zaanse Schans (windmills and wooden houses), and Marken and Volendam(traditional Dutch costumes) are all within a short distance of Castricum. Three trains per hour bring you in 25 minutes in the centre of Amsterdam.
